My first experience with therapy occurred when I was a teenager. I remember how good it felt to be listened to by another person, without judgment or criticism. The validation I received as a client during those sessions inspired me to provide the same kind of support to others.
In 2006, I graduated from the University of California, Santa Cruz, with a bachelor's degree in psychology and completed an internship at the Santa Cruz Suicide and Crisis Hotline. By 2010, I had obtained my master's degree in Marriage & Family Therapy from Alliant International University in San Diego and completed an internship at a community clinic working with survivors of domestic violence and sexual abuse.
In 2013, after nearly four years of training in outpatient, partial hospitalization, and residential settings, where I worked with individuals, children, groups, and families overcoming anxiety, depression, eating disorders, and substance abuse, I earned my California State license as a Marriage & Family Therapist. I also led numerous leadership and wellness groups focused on the prevention of self-esteem, body image, and mental health issues in pre-teen and teen girls.
After obtaining my license, I worked for the San Diego Suicide and Crisis Hotline and with one of the top managed healthcare companies in San Diego. Since moving to Orange County, I have continued to provide mental health services to individuals, families, and groups. In 2023, I earned my Certification in Perinatal Mental Health.
I was born and raised in North County San Diego. In 2015, my husband and I moved to Orange County to be closer to family. I enjoy baking, exercising, spending time outdoors, binge-watching my favorite TV shows, and, most importantly, being with friends and family—especially my husband, sons, and our boxer, Petunia Peas.
