My first experience with therapy was when I was a teenager. I remember how good it felt to be listened to by another human being, without judgment or criticism. The validation I received as a client during those experiences inspired me to give that same support to others.
In 2006, I graduated from the University of California, Santa Cruz with a bachelors degree in psychology and completed an internship at the Santa Cruz Suicide and Crisis Hotline. By 2010, I obtained my masters degree in Marriage & Family Therapy from Alliant International University in San Diego and completed my internship at a community clinic working with survivors of domestic violence and sexual abuse.
In 2013, after almost four years of training in outpatient, partial-hospitalization, and residential settings working with individuals, children, groups, and families overcoming anxiety, depression, eating disorders, and substance abuse, I earned my California state license as a Marriage & Family Therapist. I also led countless leadership and wellness groups aimed towards prevention of self-esteem, body image, and mental health issues in pre-teen and teen girls.
After obtaining my license, I worked for the San Diego Suicide and Crisis Hotline and one of the top managed health care companies in San Diego. Since moving to Orange County, I have continued to provide mental health services to individuals, families, and groups. In 2023, I received my Certification in Perinatal Mental Health.
I was born and raised in North County San Diego. In 2015, my husband and I moved to Orange County to be closer to family. I enjoy baking, exercising, being outdoors, binge watching my favorite TV shows and, most importantly, spending time with friends and family, especially my husband, sons, and our boxer - Petunia Peas.
